My four-legged (and hooved) friend resides in Maple Ridge - so I have been finding myself out there quite a bit lately.
I saw this place a few times and decided to pop in one day for lunch. It's a pretty standard eatery - nothing fancy, the specials are written on a white board as you walk in and the patrons look like regulars.
I have only good things to say about this place:
- The waitress was very chipper and seemed thrilled to tell me about the daily specials
- I had the cream of asparagus soup with a crap cake wrap, both of which were delicious!
The best part? A pretty big surprise for a "soup and sandwich" lunch place - the soups are typically made with soy milk, but they taste just like their dairy-made counterpart! (This is great news for lactose intolerant folks like me!)
The weird thing - they make their soups with soy milk, but don't offer it for tea and coffee. But I'm willing to overlook that - as the waitress assured me she's working on the chef to put soy milk on the beverage options too. :) -

I tried this place last week and the broccoli cheese soup and garden salad were delicious! I loved the house Italian dressing so decided to try this place again. This time had the Asiago bisque and garden salad. Part way through the soup, I felt the urge to purge. When I returned to my table I asked the waitress to find out what exactly was in the soup. She asked the chef and said cheese with blended vegetable. I questioned it as I knew there was meat in the soup. Then the chef piped up pork. I'm not impressed that he left out that relevant info but also a bisque is typically shellfish. So that is also misleading to the type of soup. I paid the bill $15 and have to say both times service from waitresses were wonderful but needless to say I won't be eating here again.
